We started living seasonally in El Sargento in 2012. At first, we spent the summers between the PNW and Alaska and then winters in Baja. When we opened the Kite School in 2017, we began the process of permanent residency in Mexico which provided us permission to work and operate a business in Mexico as well as easier establishments to fundamental services and by 2021 we bought a small house and began living here full time. It hasn’t been a long time in the grand scheme of life and the world in general – but it has been an adventure. The most common question we get is “How are the summers”?
It’s September and we are preparing for the 2024/25 season starting next month. It’s hot and sticky, slightly less humid than last month though. The water is warm, the wind is the usual summer ocean breeze from the east, I’m the only one on the water. It’s 33 degrees C (about 91 F) – Being in the water is really nice.
